Merican Lancers "Fortress Merica"

I've said a few times I do not actually play 40k.
Nothing at all against it,just nothing close, lack of time, yadda, yadda.
But oddly enough I had both the Bastion and Shrine kits sitting there doing nothing.
Once I had the idea to merge the kits,I could not resist making a small terrain piece.
This is the Lancers Forward Listening Post, dropped by large transport to refuel and rearm the forward force in the field.
The fuel truck I made a ways back would go with this piece.
The base is two sheets of 1mm plasticard welded together with a smaller third piece, covered with medium ballast and some homemade barbed wired to accent the piece.
I swapped out the front and rear bolters with rotary assault cannon and added Typhoon launcher covering the front door.

Merican Lancers Baneblade Complete

Well everone I have finished the Baneblade "Glory"
I am pleased with how it turned out.
There were a few things I did'nt get to do,but that was because this was a refit.
I needed an unbuilt kit,but all the major stuff made it.
Now I have to come up with a rig to paint 100 or so sections of track and 50 guns with an airbrush.
I'm thinking modeling clay and toothpicks

Now I get a week or two to recharge my creative batteries.
Then the troops start to arrive, these guys will "Want to live a Life of Danger"

Merican Lancers Baneblade Pt4

I am almost finished with the Merican Lancers Command Baneblade "Glory".
I just need to work the tracks, and a couple of hours of detail work.
With the final Dullcote layer dry I was able to add my last piece of super detailing.
AK Interactive realistic lenses for the headlights, autocannon targeter, and sensor shrine.

Merican Lancers Baneblade Pt 2

I have "Glory" well under way at this point I have the winter camo with filter applied.
I am starting to block out stowage, rusty things, gun barrels.
I see Glory as a Relic from the Siege of Terra one of the few that were salvageable.
I gave here a special Battle Honor on the Back turret giving to them by the Imperial Fists for the tanks service during the Siege.

Merican Lancers Baneblade Command HQ

I worked my magic all day yesterday,to resurrect the Machine Spirit of this Ancient Vehicle.
You can say I am the John Edwards of Mars.
I didn't go too crazy, added some stowage, not too much as it is easy to over do.
Used some tricks to make them look more substantial like covering some with a tarp made from tissue and PVA.
Gives the illusion of a lot more going on in there,I also do not need to strap them down, the straps are under the tarp :)
I used two radar dishes from the Marine Vehicle Sprue to give this tank command level comms.
I also used a 1:32 metal machine gun barrel to add a co-ax heavy stubber as well.
I do not want the turret obstructed with the Real Heavy Stubber since I found this great model to ride on top.
If you know the model it even has the proper style "1" on his left shoulder molded right on as a badge,he was destined to lead these guys.
But when you model General MacArthur's pipe on him,it may be time for the 12 step meetings.

Merican Lancers Fellblade into Baneblade Restoration

I resurrected an old Sons of Horus Fellblade that has been sitting in a drawer for almost three years.
Funny I was so proud of the Fellblade at the time,it was one of the first vehicles that I started weathering with, back when weathering was hitting the rivets with Devlin Mud.
Didn't realise at the time but there were a few shanks to the build.
I removed the autocannon and replaced with cut down HW team lascannon
I really shanked the back right track gluing one of them backwards,so I removed, cleaned the glue residue and reattached.
The link was damaged doing this so I added detail to the side visible.
I removed all the Chaos stuff with left me with alot of missing rivets that I reattached using .030 plastic rod cut into studs.
Then I sanded them lightly to get them more uniform to the existing rivets
You know it took a long, long time to remove all the Aquillas for the Fellblade.
Using FW brass I put them, back on.

Merican Lancers Chassis 9 finished

Well guys here is the last of the Leman Russes for this tank company.
A workhorse stock Russ that I gussied up by adding a Jerry can rack on the back.
Next up Baneblade mobile Command center and the long long task of painting the tracks and guns.
