Stage Two

Now that I have all the guys I need to fill out a basic and special weapons squad basecoat plus finished, it is now time for Stage Two.
Stage Two is where I do work in batches in this case Highlighting and rewashing all red cloth to add depth.

I also redo bad eyes add some freehand here and there and tidy up and last bits before final varnishing with Testors Dullcote.

So the first three to get the Stage 2 treatment are the Sarge,Vox, and Troop 6 from A Squad.

I have highlighted all high folds with first a layer 1/1 of Black Red and Carmine Red

Then a finer highlight of 1/1/1 Black Red,Carmine Red,Light Orange after which I applied a Baal Red wash to blend in the highlights.

I have also added the laser sights and chipped paint on the lasguns and shine to the gasmask lenses.

The Brass Thief

There was one villain in Ravenor Returned that I saw instantly as soon as I saw the possessed sprues.

The Brass Thief who took Zeph Mathuns life.
I painted him quite a while ago, about when the new Chaos stuff came out.

I finally based him similar to my other Inquisition stuff(marble tile ruins)

He could be put to good use as a Deamonhost, maybe Eisenhorn didn't just stop with Cherubael ;)

I have always kind of seen Eisenhorn as unknowingly going down the exact same Road as Quixos.

Which is what the Bequin trilogy will probably be about.

On an unrelated show my age geek moment,Sweet Jesus Palimino

The sequel to Tron !!!!!

Blood Pact Troop 8

Aah Eight, the Holy Number this one finishes my last head.

The troops are ready for what I like to call Stage 2.

This one has the beginnings of stage two but that really happens as a batch.

I will do things like paint all the laser sights, freehand Symbols of Khorne and Chaos, redo bad eyes and so on.

I plan on adding more highlights at this stage too.

Tomorrow I rip a page from Ravenor for a change of pace.

Blood Pact Grenade Launcher

Here is the grenade launcher troop.

Pretty standard with a bit of soot on the barrel(not sure if that's accurate, would a GL have soot?)

I freehanded a Khorne blessing in blood on his left shoulderguard.

Just one last guy left until I exhaust the Maxmini heads.

Blood Pact Heavy Flamer

This is my "Animal Mother" style of Blood Pact made from Catachan parts.

This is the guy from the Ritual Scarring tutorial so this is what the finished product looks like when using a hot knife to make scars.

I rubbed on some soot weathering powder on his arms and hands because lets face it Flamers are dirty weapons.

I have two more left to paint then I am out of heads until I get more in the mail.

Blood Pact Troop 7

Here is another of the Blood Pact Riflemen.

I used GW razor wire on his lasgun to give him a more brutal look.

I am not 100% sure what direction I am taking this army so I want to have enough models to make a few possibilities.

The next thing I do will be either the Chimera for my Lucifer Blacks or I may try to do a Dave pattern troop truck.

Blood Pact Plasma Troop

Plasma Troops are always fun to paint.

I've painted his gun a darker green to show he has good trigger control and is not overheated.

The use of powders on the base give it a nice gritty feel.

On an unrelated note check out the model for the new Gunny Harker.

I think I am in love and know exactly who that will become,

"Try Again Bragg"

Blood Pact Demo Charge

This is one of the special squad models.

This is a Pacter tossing an improvised demo charge using a flamer tank with grenades strapped

to it.

I used the good old sponge to paint on chipped steel paint on the tanks.

GW really should come out with a hand sprue it is so hard to find good guard hands to use.

Marines too,they could hand pointy hands,fist hands,knife hands,ect.

Ritual Scarification

I have a found an easy way to replicate the blood pacts ritual scarring that every member goes through on initiation into the Pact.

For Cadians you only have the flesh of the hands but Catachan gives you alot more skin to scar.

What I've done is take a small paperclip, pin and heat it up the quickly and lightly poke a few shallow marks into the hand just enough to mark up the hand.

You can also heat up your hobby blade and lightly press against the arm and hand for realistic scars and gouges.

Then paint up as usual I have used dwarf flesh here with scab red wounds.

Blood Pact Troop 6

Here is the sixth Blood Pact rifleman.

I have free handed a khorne symbol on his shoulder.

I need to get my hands on a World Eater from forgeworld with the respirator head to use as a Gunny Harker

Blood Pact Troop 5

This is a generic Lasgun troop.

I admit I was lazy when I made him.

Not one bit of bling on him and he has the non-masked head from the Fallen legionnaire pack.

Maybe someday I can make a pressmold of the mask so I can have it hang off his helmet.

But the bit is absolutely great for any traitor guard army.

I also added a sneak peek pic on the final models I've assembled to be able to field a regular and special weapon squads.

Also all the models to have every necessary combo for the Squads

Blood Pact Troop 4

This Rifleman I like to call the Mad Bomber

He has a string of grenades around his waist like a suicide bomber.

I added heat scorch to the barrels using ogryn flesh wash with Burnt Blue Tamiya powder on the edge.

Blood Pact Meltagun

Here is the ever popular Meltagun carrying trooper.

I gave him a light dusting of Tamya sand weathering powder

The Heat scorch is done by using Tamya burnt orange base with burnt blue on the edge with soot on the very end.
I free handed a Khorne symbol in blood on his Pack you could say that it is his Blood Pack.

Blood Pact Troop 3

Here is the third of the standard rank and file riflemen for the squad.

I used Black-Red as a base instead of Dark Flesh for the fatigues.
And again I used a glaze of Green-Bronze and Verdi-Gris for the Brass portions of his armor.
I also used a slight touch of weathering powder on the base and on his boots.
Next will be a melta troop who is just about done.
