Merican Lancers Tank #4 finished chassis

Here is Tank Four's finishes chassis.

I used Tamiya,MIG,and AK Interactive products to achieve this finish.

I am painting my Guard tanks with the techniques of AFV modern armor modelers.

Mig Jimenez in particular

The tow rope is picture hanging wire attached to the plastic tow rope ends.

Brass etch sprue was used to make the spare track brackets.

Return of the Merican Lancers (Winter Themed Tank Company)

Well a couple of weeks ago I looked around my hobby room at all the stuff I knew I would never paint.

So I went and sold a bunch on E-bay,unfortunately for me at that time there was a tank company on sale,sooo.

Enter the Return of the Merican Lancers.

The 1st Merican Lancers was an army I made a couple of years ago which was my version of the Merican Forces during 40k.

The Merican 1st is one of the old 100,the few army unit that garnered enough respect from the Emperor to remain active under the Aquila.

They are a Terrain founded force and are some of the best equipped units in all the Imperial Guard having an HQ on Terra and enjoying close ties with the Martian Brotherhood as the Mericans were invaluable to Mars during the Age of Strife helping them secure priceless arceotech.

In return were giving the equipment which made them so tenacious in the face of the Thunder Warriors.

This Army will be a Winter Themed Tank Army with 10 Leman Russes,1 platoon,1 command squad.

The first tank underway is Number 3,because this is a standard no frills tank so to speak.

1 and 2 will be the CO and XO with special tanks

Speaking of which I never did get rid of the original banner barer,this model was always special to me.

Blood Pact Blood Priest

This is a neat model I cam up with to be the medic for the command squad.

He can also be used as a Priest if need be.

He started as a Nurgle Preacher and I did a little of this and that to make him switch gods.

The Servo Skull cable was from Dragonforge which is a must for all serious converters and scratchbuilders.

Blood Pact Penal Legion Beastmen

For my army I am using Beastmen for the Penal Legion of the Blood Pact.

I used Gors and Catachans to 40k up the Beastmen.

The Custodian is an Enforcer,I was thinking Klytus when painting their faces where you can clearly see the eyes.

This is a neat model I came up with to use as a priest or medic
The idea is a priest in a dirty white robe covered in blood splatter
I converted a FW Nurgle priest to use for this conversion

Chaos Renegade Chimera

I whipped up a Renagade Chimera to use as a dedicated transport for one lucky squad
I didn't go to crazy with adding stowage but I did use Forge World Khorne & Renegade brass etch and added plastic rod weld beads along the front.
Seems the Dark Mechanicus prefers function over form.
I used a base of Alclad II steel then applied masking fluid with a sponge here and there.
I then used Testors Model Master Olive Drab and sprayed over the steel.
Once touch dry I removed the mask with masking tape and rubbing it off.
It helps to take a pic of the model at the masking fluid stage to remember where you put it all.
After this step I used Burnt Umber oil paint,MIG rainmarks & powders to weather it.
I think the armor bug has bit me hard.

Sons of Sek Squad

Here they are in all their evil glory The Sons of Sek.

I plan on using these guys to boost my Blood Pact shake it up a little.

I used plastic glue to dent up the armor and g/s to add knee/elbow pads.

I used extra guard gear bits and chopped off the tips of the bayonet scabbards to make the spikes.

The face masks are made using skeleton warrior hands shaved down to make the thinner and more close fitting to the face.

Sons of Sek Sergeant

This is the Sergeant I made to lead a 10 man squad of the Sons of Sek to boost my Blood Pact force.

I used plastic glue to scar the right side of his face like Sgt.Barnes from Platoon.

I have the squad 98% finished just need to paint the eyes.

I am playing with the idea of making a Sons of Sek platoon to go with them,maybe even branch off to a small army themselves who knows.

Blood Pact Mars pattern Leman Russ

I have been very good to the Blood God this week.

The last thing I finished up last night was a Mars Pattern Leman Russ.

I also painted the command FW Vanquisher turret.

The idea with the icons is the tops are servator/possessed controlled comms/targeting.

I used MIG Industrial City dirt and Black Smoke weathering powders and silver pencil to finish off the weathering.

I have even made a Evil Pask to go along with these, "Paskor"

Blood Pact Heavy Weapon Squads

I modeled one of each of the different types of Heavy Weapon Squads.

The FW Heavy Stubber Team,Missile Launcher,Lascannon,Autocannon,Mortar,Heavy Bolter

The larger weapons such as the las and autocannons are in semi-fixed positions.

The rest are in a more move and shoot position making use of available cover.

I was getting burnt out of making marines but I wanted to keep with the Khorne theme I have been running lately.

I figured what better time then to dust off my old Blood Pact project.

The first few units will be Grenadiers,HW squads,and a Mars Pattern Leman Russ w Vanquisher turret.

So first up are the Blood Pact Grenadiers,The Death Korps Of Krieg Grenadiers are perfect for this,they already have skull grotesques on the masks,perfect just perfect.

I also used a Vostroyan Comms guy and sculpted a grotesque on him.

He will now either run with the command squad or be a Master of Ordinance

World Eater Skull Champion

These small forces have a funny habit of growing.

The Bezerkers need a Skull Champion and the Skull head bit really stinks.

However the Jumpack Chaplain is one of the best sculpts out there,might need to buy a finecast one for conversions,this one is the metal one which is why I had to weigh it down with a coin.

I was able to really get a sense of him being a Whirling Dervish of Destruction with this pose.

Space Marine Statue

Every since I read the post on Santa Cruz about the reactive paints I knew that they just had to be used on the Space Marine Statue scenery.

I used the Sophisticated Finishes Patina Blue kit on a statue I built today.

I think the results speak for themselves this paint is some heavy hitting stuff when it comes to scenery.

Khornite Contemptor, Angrons Warrior Cult Pt 2

This is the contemptor I made to go with The Warrior Cult.

I used the chainfist bit from the ironclad to replace the left fist.

I added a set of Khornite ears I had extra from making the troops,just one of those things I was not expecting to work that did.

I finished off with having his head wired to an aggression circuit and chains to wrap around his fist and leg.

Angron Daemon Prince

I finally got a new camera so I cannot wait to show off what I have been working on.

I got the Ultraforge Greater WarDaemon and converted him to be Angron after he became a Daemon Prince.

I used the reactive paint that Santa Cruz posted up and I have to say it really is the bees knees.

The Patina is even better than the rust and the rust is awesome.

I also picked up a 120mm Skull Base and used Dragonforge cables for his implants.

Lexandro Finished and why I've been so quiet

I am finally getting to posting the finished Lexandro Pics.

There were a few touch-ups after these but he is finished and looks fantastic.

I have not been painting so much since Space Marine came out,then I became a tester for a major mmo coming out this Christmas.

To top it off my camera's LCD screen is smashed so I have not been able to take pics.

I am finishing up the Sons of Horus landspeeders and 3 Velard Chaos Terminators he gave me to paint and post pics of.

Here are a few stages all at once.

Once the Hull Red was dry I used masking fluid applied with a sponge on it at contact points to preserve the Red chips.

Then I airbrushed a base coat of Iylanden Darksun

Then four coats of Golden Yellow letting each coat fully dry

I have also been working on the face

I went pretty standard on base coat(Dark Flesh,Tallern Flesh,)

Then it is just working it with LIGHT washes

First Ogyrn flesh to empathise shadows,then a Sepia/Green wash 80/20 to give the skin an Olive Hue.

I have also painted the tattoo on his face as described in Harlequin

I reworked him a bit,reset the studs deeper,removed the now infamous Cod Stud and the neck piece.

It was blocking the face too much.

I have starting the painting process,it will be three main layers

Steel,Red Primer,Yellow

This is the first layer a black primer layer with Alclad II Steel and Stainless Steel airbrushed on.

Next I use making fluid and then the Red primer.

150mm Imperial Fist Lexandro D'Arquebus Pt 1

I have started making progress on my 150mm Marine,a Hurricane/Tropical Storm tends to do that.

I have decided to make a Large model of one of my favorite characters from the 40k books,

Lexandro D'Arquebus from the novel Space Marine and Inquisition War.

As a Pre-heresy addict I had to go and give him mk5 Greaves and cod piece.

Using FW brass etch and GW icons I think I did a pretty good job modeling him.

Now the power is back on it is time to paint...

Sons of Horus Landraider Cthonian

I have decided to rework Cthonian to better match the current army.

After the paint job I gave it a light coat of Glosscote and busted out the Burnt Umber Oil paint for a pin wash around crevasses and rivets.

I then used a hair drier to speed the drying waiting until the thinner I used for the wash to evaporate.

I then used a Large brush slightly damp with thinner and created downward streaks on the sides and along the top I went with direction of movement front to rear.

Now it dries for 2 days while it all sets in.

I used a Chaos skull helm with a Severan Loth Honor Guard chest.

The head of the Chaos Lord Staff makes for a great Croxius head and bezerker arms are perfect for making the FW mk3 into assault poses.

I gave him Mk3 Armor for added protection in close combat but with a Mk4 helm for the more advanced sensor suites.

40k Scale Newspaper and Propagada Poster Tutorial

I have found an easy way to make Propaganda Posters and Newspaper for use on your 40k bases or scenery.

First cut off the foil from the top of a wine bottle

Then flatten it out and prime it with a light colored primer.

I used Tamiya

Then basecoat it with a few coats of Dheneb Stone and draw a grid with the boxes being the size of the poster or newspaper

Then paint or use a micro pen to draw your images.

Here the top six are painted with Chaos Black and Scorched Brown

The bottom six are done with a micron pen.

Once finished spray a layer of Matte Varnish

Once dry use scissors and cut out the pages and give them a slight ruffle and you now have great basing and scenery material

Once dry I sprayed him with Testors Dullcote to remove the shine.

I finished the paintjob on the chassis,added the iconography and sprayed him with Glosscote.

I used Burnt Umber oil paints tpick out the rivets lines.

Now he has to dry a few days before I touch him again.

A few of you sent me messages on how I painted my Sons of Horus.

Today I give you the recipe.

You will need the following paints

From Vallejo Panzer Aces line:

Africa Korps Tank Crew(336),Highlight Russ.I Tkcr(329)

From Citadel:

Chaos Black,Boltgun Metal,Scab Red,Blood Red,Scorched Brown,Thrakka Green,Badab Black,Devlin Mud,Asurman Blue

From Tamiya:

Clear Red

Step one give a good solid base coat with Afirca Korps be sure to thin the Vallejo paint well they tend to be thicker than GW in my experience

Step two mix equal parts Thraka Green,Delvin Mud,Badab Black,Asurman Blue and water for a wash that you will coat the model with.

Be sure the wash in concentrated more in the cracks and not on the flat plates on his armor

Step three use a 50/50 mix of Africa Korps and Russian Highlight use this mix to paint your model carefully leaving the base color at the cracks.

Take your time and use thinner paint and more layers to get a good solid finish

Also paint your blacks and reds at this time so you can use the green mix to fix mistakes

Anything you want as a red gemstone like I am doing on the chest and knees paint Blood Red over the Scab red.

Step four paint your metallics with Boltgun Metal and coat the Red gemstones with Tamiya Clear Red.

Paint or decal your unit markings and weapon of choice and you are good to go

Step five(optional)use just the Russian Highlight if you want to paint hard edge highlights

I am starting the new army with the command squad so next up is the Apothecary.

Like the banner bearer he has been a member of the legion for a long time and is in older Mk2 Crusade plate.

I use the Chaos Termie Lord bare head for all of my unhelmeted members so they all are True Sons that have his face.

The Grey Knight Termie Apothecary bits fit really well with the Mk2 backpack and a FW plasma pistol finish him off

Its a New Sons of Horus Army

I couldn't bring myself to sell the old army just yet.

In fact It will be resold as a small strike force without Vehicles,I could not bear to part with them,especially the Pre-Heresy Land Raider.

So to begin this army I am starting with the command squad and bolter brothers.

I decided to use the topknots as a unit identifier,tactical is blue,devastator is brown,assault is red,and command with be purple.

The first one is the banner bearer,I used Mk2 since it is an ancient that usually carries the banner.

I added chains and skulls to liven it up,I used the Horus heresy Anthology as a reference for the design.

I found a new recipe for the armor that is much closer to the Index Astartes article.

I plan on redoing it with nothing but Forge World and a new paint scheme my friend Apologist came up with on The Great Crusade.

He is doing a TrueScale SoH that has made me rethink my army.

Abaddon Siege of Terra Sketch

I just picked up a new Cintiq and it is awesome.
I could never draw as good with the Intuos4 as I good as I could on paper.
I had a hard time looking at the monitor while drawing on a pad,the Cintiq decimates this problem.
My first WIP is of Abaddon during the Siege of Terra smashing through the palace walls.
The pad is also the screen so I lose none of my hand eye coordination and it makes all the difference.

I am going back to my roots.

I am in the slow process of starting a Sons of Horus army.

I am starting with a small assault squad that will also have options to use them as raptors too if I want to play em as Chaos.

I am using the Forgeworld Mk3 kit to model them as kickass brutal assault troops that would make a World Eater think twice.

I have been quiet lately.

There has been alot of stuff on my plate and I had to put most of my modeling on hold for a month or so.

I think its good for a mini painter to take a break for a month or so every now an then.

I like to save it for May-July.

But I did have time to finish painting most of my Dust Tactics board game.

I am a painter not much of a gamer so I will be probably selling my game as a supreme deluxe version complete with realistic barricades and a M-26 Pershing and Early model Tiger.

Making realistic tank hulls

This is a technique I picked up from Fine Scale Modeler Magazine.

US armor during WWII has a rough cast texture to anything that was not flat plates such as the body and turret.

Using the thin Testors Plastic Cement(the one with little nail polish brush inside)coat the area you want to have texture.

Using the little brush on the cap start stippling where you put the layer of glue.

After a couple of passes you get a really authentic looking turrets and chassis.

This will look really good on a Leman Russ and of course any of the DUST Bots.

I am in the process of finishing my Dust Tactics models using the real Dust water slide decals.

I changed from winter white to a more authentic brown-violet overcoat.

I am going to give everybody the star in circle with the Sarges getting their stripes.

WW2 Historical M26 Pershing Pt 2

Here is the finale of the M26 Pershing.

Do not tell me why but I felt the need to work on my water slide technique which I think I got down.

I think WW2 models work better when you use real decals as opposed to paint,but Micro Sol and Set are a must.

Since putting a gloss layer is part of the regular painting process anyhow, the transfers fit right in.

A layer of gloss to hide the decal seams and the Dullcote to bring it back to a matte finish.

I used a 80/20 mix of Tamiya X-20 thinner and Tamiya Buff for a dusting of the lower chassis followed by a light dusting of Europe dust and Industrial Dirt

WW2 Historical M26 Pershing Pt 1

Here is a M26 Pershing tank I am making to go along with some homegrown rules I am making for Dust Tactics.

Basically add regular non mech units,I have a Tiger I and a Sherman to do as well.

I used Procreate to replicate the canvas mantlet cover,using a mechanical pencil to add the fasteners

The Bottom chassis is completed and weathered the top has the base coat and oil filters.

I have painted the barrel in a camo style Shermans used to use to give the impression of a

smaller barrel.

The filters should be completely dry by tomorrow so I can start the varnish and decal layer.

Anyone know if the finish should be shiny gloss or satin for water slide transfers?

Either way after the decals I will add rain marks and pin washes

Dust " My name is KILROY"

I finished the main paint job on him,removed the mask and added an Archer dry rub stencil to his chest.

He is a work of art.

I am now going to be going through the fun process of weathering him.

Dust "Kilroy the painting process"

Here I am showing you how I go about painting a guy like Kilroy.

First I paint him in the colors of the materials he is built with in this case Steel and Copper.

I used Alclad II for the Steel and Copper over a basecoat of Tamiya Primer and Armory Black primers.

After that is dry I use masking fluid to sparingly hit him on a couple of spots,mainly the edges.

I then used Tamiya Hull Red to replicate the Red Oxide primer that armor is painted after they come off the assemby line.

After which once again hit it with masking fluid,the key word is sparingly.

After this I used Testors Model Master(MM) Olive Drab and painted him up in about for light layers as to opposed to all at once.

This I will leave to dry for a few hours before I start panel fading and hightlighting with MM Faded Olive Drab

I like the back story to Dust.

But like with anything I like to add my own twists.

In my head in the alternate reality of Dust,the revelation of the alien spacecraft and Germany's tech leap has made the US keep the Los Alamos scientists together after they built "The Bomb"

Together with Einstein and Tesla the US has also invented giant automated 30 foot tall robots.

Armed with a mighty wrecking ball and the frightening Tesla Disintegrator.

Christened, "Kilroy" this engine of destruction dares any Kraut to stick his nose out so he can blast him to kingdom come.

Dust "The First Batch"

Here are the first few Dust minis that I am working on.

I painted the Germans in a SS theme,not because I love Nazi's or anything but only the elite troops would have access to this kind of gear and that would mean the SS.

I painted the Recon Grenadiers in an Autumn Pea Dot,the Battle Grenadiers in Winter Smocks with regular Pea Dot pants,and the Laser Grenadiers in traditional Field Grey.

I have also started work on the first unit of Airborne Rangers too(the Elite thing goes both ways)

1/48 scale Genius "Dust Tactics and the AFV"

For the past year I have been picking up issues of Fine Scale Modeler.

It is a great magazine that mostly caters to Historical Military Vehicles.

There are alot of AFV (Armor Fighting Vehicles) that are amazing.

There are many different techniques that carry over very well into the 40k side of the house.

The models for modern armor destroy GW's stuff,sorry no disrespect,the detail on the vehicles is second to none.

For the major model makers models(Tamiya,Dragon,AFV ect)there are probally half a dozen or more companies who make brass etch and resin upgrade to push the realizm up to museam quality.

GW will get there someday,their plastic kits keep getting better and better every release.

The main reason why you do not see more of these kits in scratch builds is the scale.

GW is 28mm Heroic which seems to be whatever they feel like at the time.

Fine Scale models two main sizes are 1/35 and 1/48.

The new game Dust Tactics is a Weird War Two game that was genius enough to make their game in a 1/48th scale.

The minis are about 34mm but most importantly fit perfectly well with the thousands and thousands of 1/48 WWII models.

I have just dipped my toe in the waters of Dust and plan to make use of the superb Sherman tank upgrade kits and milled metal barrels for use on the walker tanks.

And it also gives me the perfect excuse to start buying WWII models too.

"G for Gretta" Gotta Pin to Win

Chugging along at a nice steady rate it is now time to start thinking about attaching the wings.

They are going to be extra heavy with all of the engines attached so it will need that extra ommph.

I have pinned them exactly how GW showed us all those years ago in the painting guide.

Attach pins on one side,paint them so you can see the marks on the other side.

It will add alot more strength to the structure,kind of like re bar in concrete.

Today it was time to start showing the under wing some love,the engines are going on soon.

The flaps were are little blah.

Every time I fly on a plane I usually get a real good view of the flaps because I am in coach in the back :)

But the is always a whole lot going on inside the flap area that wasn't happening on this model

Here is a photo of a real B-17 flap see all the gubbins.

So what I did was bend some 24 gauge wire a bit a glue onto the flap area of the wing.

Not too much three little pieces each,I do not want to bulk it out just have the illusion of alot more going on.

I do this by making many square bends in the three lines.

I then painting it and the underside of the flap itself Tamiya Cockpit Green and the plumbing is painted Tin Bits.

I know,I know it is part of the 40k grim dark but common

Open flames,near oxygen I get what the sculptor was doing but I do not like it.

So I chiseled off the candles and scratch built a new instrument panel to replace it.

I also wanted to show off how pretty the wings are becoming now I have added the Identification stripes.

I do not think I ever even want to finish this model it is too much fun.

I have been working on respraying parts of the plane to remove fingerprints which are much more noticeable on it.

I will be handling it with surgical gloves from here on out.

I have been working on the engines themselves and they are starting to look really good.

The rumours of the plastic Thunderbolt is keeping me from ordering two right now.

In fact I want three,one metallic,one flying tiger style,and one Apostle.

First off I'd like to wish all who frequent my blog a very Happy New Year.

Hope all your resolutions come true and all that jazz.

The Guys from Forge World were awesome enough to provide me with a spare co-pilot seat.

I explained to them I was modeling the plane with no one inside and needed a second co-pilot seat.

You see the regular cockpit comes with the pilot seat with the pilot sculpted in the seat.

The co-pilot is not sculpted on,he gets glued into the seat,so for an empty cockpit you need two co-pilot seats.

Once I received it,I went about the task of making the new pilots seat actually looking the part.

I copied every detail I would from the original and even added much more,such as the ejection handles and restraints.

The new seats have 36 extra styrene details such as the new more realistic control stick with

top-hat and 4 painted on buttons,I also added that detail to the regular pilot piece so his control

stick does not look like a knob off a forklift.

The restraints were made with heavy foil off the top of a wine bottle trimmed to shape and fine wire to make the buckle.

The paint job is not finished more of just a basecoat at this point.

Here is the base for my wings.

They are multi-shaded with me using Aluminum,Semi-Matte,and Polished Aluminum lacquers.

I used Tamiya Weathering powder Burnt Blue and Orange on the areas that would be heat stressed.

The soot is Alclad's Jet Exhaust

Next up for them is the Identification stripes on the wingtips

I am selling my Merican Lancer Imperial Guard Rapid Assault Army.

They are the 40k version of American troops

They are part of the Merican Fusiliers who fought with Macharius.

Included are a pair of super detail Leman Russes,a Squadron of Armored Sentenels,and my pride and joy the pro painted Valkrie with the Flying Nun Nose art.

G for Gretta Terriffic Turrets

I can say with all honesty this is the most challenging and redone model I have ever worked on.

I stripped it more time than I can count and I even have to redo the bomb bay,but it is all worth it.

I am really rising to the occasion and have added many new skills and products to my arsenal.

I will be really making progress in the net couple of weeks but I wanted to show off the front turret.

I used clear plasticard for the glass which was attached with Micro Krystal Klear clear parts cement/window maker.

Another great use is to fill in aircraft gauges with it to give them an authentic glass feel.

Next up is the empty cockpit detailing

G for Gretta "One step forward,Two steps back"

I have been able to finish a few of the pieces,the smaller things the canopies,turrets,This upper fuselage piece.
But unfortunately the gloss black enamel base is giving me a real hard time.
I got the dread Orange Peel on one wing and the other had the runs.
So using Lacquer Thinner I bought at the Hardware store for $5(Which is the same as the Alclad Airbrush cleaner but you get about a gallon more)
I stripped it back down to the bare resin.

Since I started some of the detail needs to be re attached due to the handling when I was stripping it.
I will go back over the entire thing with the sanding papers again before I re-prime.
This time I will try the alclad brand gloss black and see how that goes.

I am using gloss black enamel as the base and let me tell you that it is very hard to use until you get the hang of it.

But the airbrush cleaner strips it back to base resin very easy though very messy.

This is a hard project with many do-overs.

Here is a piece that I lifted paint off of when I removed a mask.

I then repainted but went too heavy.

I sanded it back to smooth

Then resprayed and was able to save the piece

The Forge World model is curiously bare when it comes to the bomb bay.
I guess you are supposed to just model it closed.
That will not stand,I went out and using plastruct and evergreen,I beams,Channel,and rods fabricated a replica of a B-17's bomb bay.
I even bought extra Bombs(also missing for the Marauder BOMBER)and loaded Gretta up ready to drop death from above.

This is my massive year end project,a Forge World diorama the centerpiece being my rendition of the "G for Greta"from Double Eagle.

I plan on entering this in a Golden Demon somewhere down the line.

I plan on making this special by painting it in an Aluminum B-17 WWII scheme getting refueled and rearmed.

I am using a very different product than most are used to called Alclad II.

This is a metallic lacquer that actually bonds to the surface.

This being said any bump or blemish is going to show very easily so the surface must be sanded glass smooth.

I am starting with 400 grit and working my way through to 12000 grit before I even prime it.

It must also be primed in a lacquer based primer such as Tamiya.

After which it must be sanded again then painted gloss black enamel for the high shine finishes.

I am also going to super detail the bird as there are some things I really want such as the waist gunner and bomb bay.

These pics show how I carefully drilled a hole through the modeled access door then sanded to fit the shape of the door.

I also made a copy of the door so I can model it in an open position with a heavy stubber 50 cal sticking out.

Argel-Tal Pt1

When I read good Black Library books they always make me want to make models of the main characters.

The First Heretic by New York Times Best Selling Author Aaron Dembski Bowden was no exception.

This is a model based on the main character 7th Company Captain Argel-Tal.

This is just the first stage with the beginnings of source lighting on the eyes to give that nice evil glow.

Blood Pact Sentinel Squadron

One of my Fast attack choices,the Sentinel Squadron.

Two set up as Armageddon pattern and the third is magnetized to be able to pick any load out.

That's the Omni-Mech of the bunch,he can even become a scout sentinel for the stealth.

I have been working on new Heavy Weapons squads as of late.

The first is a Forge World Renegade Heavy Stubber Team.

They are painted up like the rest of my force,I originally wanted them to be shooting out of the window but then the models would of been hidden from view.

Which totally defeats the purpose of painting a mini in the first place.

While building I dropped the axeman and had to rebuild a prong on his axe out of styrene.

Rippergun Ogryn Renegades Pt 1

I have finished converting all of the newer metal GW Ogryns to match the Forge World Renegade Ogryn.

The addition of khorne brass etch to all ogryn models and similar basing helps tie them all in together.

I have started painting them now,using GW's ogyrn flesh recipe which works perfect with my color scheme.

They still have a little way to go but you get the idea.

Dark Mechanicus Enginseer

When I play this force vehicle heavy it is always good to have one of these guys on hand to awaken the Machine Spirits.

Pretty standard, but I Dremmeled his face off and replaced with a skull from the skeleton warrior sprue.

The Servo Skull uses an old melta pistol as the basis for the gun and he is held alot by DragonForge cable.
