Imperial Fist Command Land Raider pt 2

Here are shots of it somewhere along the process of basecoating and chipping.

The freehand on the top is a prayer to Rogal Dorn put through a English to Latin translator.

So forgive if not correct.

It should read
We are the Hammer
We are the Fist of Dorn
We suffer not the xenos to live
We do this in the name of Dorn
We burn the Heretic
We do this in the name of Dorn
We cleanse the taint of the Mutant
We do this in the name of Dorn
To Slay is to Pray.

Imperial Fist Command Land Raider Pt1

I want this to be the command tank for the Legion.

Something that carries First Company Captains and Chapter Masters to battle.

While not as fancy as Calgars whip I made use of icons to help make it look the part.
I used the Crusader model because A)It has more of a punch B)The Black Templars thier successors invented the loadout.
I see the Templars paying homage by giving the Fists a tank.

I used magnets for the side door to show the computer panel and eagle antennae so it can also be used as a Land Raider Prometheus Command tank.

The ForgeWorld one just has an oversize sensor which is not enough IMO.

I also added DragonForge cable to the Gunner to make him more like a Techmarine without harness, which it how I will be painting him.

Death Guard Army for Sale

This week I am selling a well painted Death Guard Army to pay for what happened during the Massive storm last week in New York

A giant tree in my swimming pool.

I need to come up with a grand to pay for removal(not to mention the deductible for the insurance) so my loss is your gain.

I made this army with all the insane amount of detail I always do using only Pre-Heresy bits.

Most of it Mk3 Iron Armor using second edition weapons which are the ones shown in most Horus Heresy artwork.

The are 20 Plague Marines,2 chosen,10 minor daemons,and a Sorcerer.

There is also a Rhino and Predator to add some mechanized support.

It is on EBay this week

Imperial Fists Drop-Pod Pt.2

I reworked the weathering powder a bit and started to add my signature chipping to the doors.

I used a sponge and Boltgun Metal on the danger stripe to show wear and tear.

I will be reapplying the dust colored powder after I paint the chips.

I see these things kicking up one hell of a dust cloud when they land.
There is something that really bothers me about this model.
The harnesses are in a locked position but there are no passenger models like the forgeworld one.
If they leave out the passengers they should of made the harnesses in the open position.
I guess they close by themselves like at Six Flaggs.

Imperial Fist Drop Pod

They do not lie, this is one of the harder kits to put together.

Mine does not close 100% it might take me a few tries to get the drop-pod perfect.

I can fix mine with magnets.

I painted in the same scheme as the rest of my force however I wanted this pod to look like it really just survived re-entry and maybe even went through a weak structure or two.

I used chaos black and an airbrush to paint a band a soot on the lower half which I then augmented with MIG black pigment.

I went a little heavier than I should so I worked in some Industrial dirt to lighten it up.

Once the powder dried it really helped soften the soot and bring it back from the brink.

Foxy Boxy pt 2

I changed out the two front panels with the plain ones so I could work some freehand on the model.

Besides 3 cathedral panels is too much gold for me.

I went with a cool reaper on the right and basic heraldry on the left.

I sponge painted over the freehand with the base color to represent the design being chipped away over time.

I bought up every possible dreadnought arm there is so I can outfit both of them for every role possible.

The extra bits on the Venerable Dred and Fist icons sprue go a long way to make standard arms look venerable.

Foxy Boxy

I went out and bought another dred this weekend.

I knew I wanted this one to be a Mk V so I went about and built it with the Gothic style bits.

I unofficially dub him the Foxy Boxy,It'll have to work until I figure out a good Dark,Dark,Kill,Kill grimdark Latin name.

I also picked up just about every plastic arm I could for drednoughts I am just missing the Ironclads Right hand claw and the Black Reach Melta which is on its way.

Affordable,Practical Deathstorm Drop Pod

Using the twin assault cannon bits and optics from the Dark Angel vehicle sprue you can make a great conversion to have a Deathstorm Assault cannon drop pod.

First cut and sand flush behind the red line

Attach cannons to mount from vehicle sprue place optic in the middle of the mount
Attach gun where you would normally have the stormbolter/missile launcher

I glued mine but by using magnets you could swap out all three.

Glue ammo boxes to the rear of each gun

And that's it
A way cheaper alternative to Forgeworld version and you can still use as a normal drop pod just one that is better than anyone elses in your FLGS

Imperial Fist Venerable Drednought Completed

I have finally finished painting this Bad Mother-(shut your mouth).

Deus Venator is a name better suited for a titan or Land Raider.

From here on out he will be know as the Venerable Captain Charlemagne.

A veteran of the siege of Terra who suffered a grievous melta wound in the trenches of the Iron Cage.

I based him on a Manufactorum panel with small slate and barbed wire using both Mig and Tamiya rust colored Weathering powders.
