Imperial Fists Scout Capt Telios pt1
The new novel Sons of Dorn has this great character of a company capt Telios who is promoted/demoted? to lead the 10th company.
Since I stole Tellions head for Bulveye,I had the great body but with no head.
I removed all Ultra symbols and used the Deathwatch bare head to make my representation of him.

He will lead my scout squads becoming a Tellion proxie.
I need to base and battle damage him still.

Turning Lemons into Lemonade Pt2
When I left off ,the base coated tank had just received a wash of VGC Smoke wash.
Now when Dry using an eraser and blue tac remove the mask leaving the Paint job chipped all to hell.
Then using wet Tamiya weathering powder Rust and Orange Rust I apply it wherever the metal shows streaking it down to emulate rain streaking the rust.
Once you are satisfied give it a couple of coats of Dullcote to lock in the powder and you are done.

Turning Lemons into Lemonade Pt1
My last post I described how I used a very second hand rhino and made a very well done Death Guard Rhino.
I am doing the same thing with an old predator and another rhino.
As you can see these guys are pretty rough.
The first thing I did was sand off any decals, fix any mold lines and then I re primed it black.
I then gave a good once over with boltgun metal that has received a wash of Vermin Brown and a wash of Scaly Green to give the metal a nice dirty tint.
I then applied a Liquid Mask with a sponge giving extra attention to the edges and hatches.
Once dry I sprayed with Tamiya White and base coated the tank any metal being painted Beastal Brown which gives you the dark red rust base.
Also paint on the badge and unit markings at this stage.
Once done I gave it a wash of Vallejo smoke.

Death Guard Rhino
He is a good case of making a old model work for you.
I have a few old Rhinos I bought off a guy a while back.
They look like he painted and put them together with his feet.
I usually only scavenge the hatches but I had one that was not too bad and decided it could become a decent looking Transport.
I gave it a quickie re prime not caring if it was too thick because Nurgle rides look all scuzzy anyway.
Then I base coated boltgun metal which I tinted with beastal brown and hawk turquoise to give it a nice dull weathered metal.
Then I applied liquid mask with a sponge and then gave the model a dusting of Tamiya white spray.
I removed the mask to get a nice chipped effect and applied a weathering powder wash of Tamiya Orange Rust and Rust powders.
I still need to add some extra length to the exhaust pipes.

Count the Seven
I will be finishing up a half started project as a break from the Imperial Fists.
I noticed going through my old stuff that I practically had a small Death Guard army.
I have 2 squads of 10 Death Guard, a Sorcerer,and Typhus.
I have also dug up really abused old rhinos I bought off ebay to scavenge the front and side hatches to use as their dedicated transport.
Thank God they are supposed to be all corroded so the shoddy modeling and excess glue looks like it actually belongs.

Imperial Fists ChapterMaster in MK2
This is my Helbrecht conversion using a Max-Mini head.
I used a dremmel to grind off most of the Templar iconography.
I like how he is coming out but I am not 100% on the color for his tabbard.
I gave him a Cortez Deamonhammer as a gift from the Inquisition and the Combi-Melta gives him a nice anti-vehicle punch.
